Ahhhh, the 30s. A decade where you’re wiser, maybe a little busier, and definitely more aware of the need for a solid anti-aging regimen. It’s the perfect time to elevate your anti-aging game. These are not only tips based off of my personal experience, but also in my humble professional opinion as a licensed esthetician and what plenty of other professionals recommend.
I’m going to talk about the BARE bones of skincare routine, along with some other habits and rituals you may want to start incorporating ASAP if you’re looking to stay looking like young and hawt. So let’s dive into the best anti-aging tips for 30s to keep that glow going strong.
First things first: consistency is MAJOR. Find a skincare routine you love and stick to it like glue. Start with a gentle cleanser to wash away the grime, follow up with some serums, and then slather on a high-quality moisturizer. And don’t forget sunscreen—your skin will thank you for protecting it from those harmful UV rays. Toss in a serum with some superstar ingredients like hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, or retinol for an extra oomph.
When it comes to skincare, you get what you pay for. If you’re on a budget I recommend splurging on some serums, because that’s where you’ll get the most bang for your buck for correcting your concerns. Cheap products can be full of harsh chemicals, nasties or low-grade ingredients that do more harm than good. Look for high-quality goodies that are backed with science & packed with antioxidants, peptides, and collagen boosters. Your skin deserves the best, and the work you put in now will show in the long run.
What Order Should My Skincare Routine Be In?
Luxury Skincare vs. Drugstore Skincare: What’s The Real Deal?
IT’S TRUE– You are what you eat, and that’s especially true for your skin. Load up on fruits, veggies, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Vitamins A, C, and E are our skin’s best friends. And don’t forget omega-3 fatty acids—think salmon, walnuts, and flaxseeds. These nutrients will help keep your skin glowing from the inside out.
Who doesn’t love a little pampering? Regular beauty treatments like microneedling, facials, microcurrent sessions, and chemical peels can work wonders for your skin. They help improve texture, reduce wrinkles, and boost collagen production.
Ideally, one professional treatment per month will help exfoliate off any dead skin cells, and keep your collagen producing. We start to lose about 1% of collagen per year starting in our 20s, so doing treatments that help collagen production will combat that loss of collagen we’re already losing out on. Plus, it’s a great excuse for some much-needed you-time.
Exercise isn’t just for staying fit; it’s great for your skin too. Getting your heart rate up increases blood flow, which delivers more oxygen and nutrients to your skin cells. Aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise most days, whether it’s a jog, yoga, or a dance party in your living room. Literally anything that will get you moving!
This might not be for everyone, and that’s okay. But it’s worth a mention, because bone broth isn’t just for your grandma’s soup recipe. It’s packed with collagen, which is essential for keeping your skin firm and smooth. Sip on some bone broth regularly, and you’ll be giving your skin the building blocks it needs to stay youthful.
This one you’ve probably heard a million times, but stress is the ultimate skin villain. It can lead to breakouts, dullness, eye bags, etc. I never really understood how stress effects our skin until it was put like this — when you’ve been embarrassed/humiliated and you can instantly feel your face getting hot and turning red. This just goes to show how almost immediately that stress can affect our skin.
Find ways to chill out, whether it’s through yoga, meditation, or simply binge-watching your favorite shows. The less stress you have, the happier you will be, which in will return show on your skin.
It’s time to say goodbye to alcohol, nicotine, processed foods, and sugars. These baddies can cause inflammation and speed up the aging process. It’s mind over matter when it comes to bad habits, but if you really stick your mind to it and prioritize your health and make that your top priority, I can guarantee it will become a lot easier.
Never underestimate the power of a good night’s sleep. While you snooze, your body goes into repair mode, fixing the damage done during the day. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night. Create a calming bedtime routine—think cozy pajamas, a good book, and a cool, dark room. Maybe even some tea or calming music. Preferably no screens an hour before bed. Trust me, beauty sleep isn’t a myth. It’s one of the best anti-aging tips for 30s. You’ll wake up refreshed with a complexion that’s ready to face the day.
There you have it—the best anti-aging tips for 30s to keep your skin looking fabulous. Stick to a consistent skincare routine, invest in high-quality products, eat a nutrient-rich diet, treat yourself to beauty treatments, stay active, drink bone broth, reduce stress, and cut out those harmful habits. Your skin will thank you, and you’ll be glowing well into your fabulous 40s and beyond. Cheers to staying youthful and vibrant!
